The Professional Development Committee focuses on creating series of interactive workshops for BOW members to learn specific hard skills. The year, we are excited to launch a Graphic Design workshop series and take over the High School Mentorship program. In this committee, members are able to not only demonstrate their own knowledge regarding their interests, but inform and encourage other BOW members to discover similar interests. Through High School Mentorship, our committee engages actively with those in the Durham community and provides guidance around career interests, college advice, and professional development to high school students.

"I wanted to join a committee so that I could be more involved in BOW and help plan events for members. I chose to apply to the Professional Development committee because I was not sure which industry I wanted to go into, but I knew that professional development is applicable to any career. It also gives me the chance to work with industry-specific committees to plan their events, so I get a little taste of everything. I really enjoy working on the committee because I feel that I can explore my interests while simultaneously contributing to BOW."
