Lia Markelson
VP of Sponsorship
Lia Markelson is a sophomore at Duke studying Economics and Psychology with a minor in Cinematic Arts. She currently serves as VP of Sponsorship for BOW and is also active in Scholars of Finance, First Generation Investors, the Business of Retail Society, Film Club, and Club Swim. She enjoys being part of different communities on campus where she can learn from others, contribute her own ideas, and explore her interests in business, finance, and media.
This past summer, Lia balanced professional experiences with her love of the ocean—she worked as a surf instructor while also taking part in Goldman Sachs’ Women’s Possibilities Summit, where she connected with mentors and explored careers in finance. Outside of academics, Lia loves all kinds of water sports, traveling, and spending time with friends. She’s also a lifelong New York Jets fan, which she admits requires a lot of patience.
