Melanie Chen is a Junior from Shenzhen, China pursuing a double major in Psychology and Statistics, with a minor in French. She joined BOW during her freshman spring and previously served on the Sponsorship Committee and later as the Membership Chair of BOW. She is very excited to be the Community Engagement Chair for the 2021-2022 academic year. During freshman summer, Melanie interned as an Equity Research Analyst at Romero Capital in New York. This past summer, Melanie interned as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at CITIC Securities. Outside of BOW, she is involved in Duke Impact Investing and is a research fellow with Duke Bass Connections. In her free time, Melanie enjoys listening to all genres of music and learning new piano pieces, as having studied music for 16 years. She also likes watching movies and has a particular passion for learning new languages, currently knowing French, Japanese, and some Spanish.
